The last few minutes of daylight provided a perfect winter glow upon this Blue Heron. I watched it fly in and perch and I prayed it would hold to the stillness of the moment. It did and allowed me to emerge from my hiding place, and get a bit closer, long enough to capture the golden light that illuminated its beak and breast feathers.
