Description

In early Autumn a number of osprey gather at the end of Burlington Bay to feed on fish before migrating south.
There seems to be a fairly large number of large goldfish or golden carp in the creek that flows into the bay.
I spent many days capturing images of the osprey flying past and diving for fish. They seem to be tolerant of the crowds of people that come to photograph them and will dive for fish right in front of them. I was fortunate to be in a good position as this osprey dove on a fish and flew past me carrying his catch. I got several images of it, but this was my favourite one for wing position and position of the fish in it’s talons.
