Description

I’ve had Allen’s Hummingbird nesting outside my home office window for two years in a row. Last year (May-June 2019) the nest was positioned so that I could photograph and take video of the whole nesting period from building the nest until the chicks left. This is one of the best shots I got of the babies (I named them Osmo, the male and Pippi, the female) while standing on my desk using a monopod and 300 mm telephoto lens.
