Description

This Red Bellied Woodpecker came to the Yankee Droll feeder that I fill with a Nut and Berry mix from Wild Delight. The Red Bellied woodpeckers seem to be very attracted to this mix. I have a couple of other suet feeders just for woodpeckers in the area. They seem to enjoy being able to pick out a tidbit at this feeder to fly away with that they haven’t had to work hard to grab. I enjoy watching and listening to these birds. They are very vocal and will complain if they don’t find their favorites available. They definitely hold their own at the feeders. I’ve even seen them chase away Blue Jays on occasion.
