Description

I heard a soft, lovely song and not having heard many Painted Buntings in my short birding life, I was just beside myself to see this fella singing away. When he became more visible to feed, I noticed his tail feathers were missing and I hoped it was natural molting and not due to an injury. He didn’t seem to notice, of course, as he softly chattered away while feeding. Fantastic!
