Description

My favorite time of summer is when the Goldfinches discover that it is harvest time in my flower garden. They flit among the coneflowers in search of ready seeds, and hang at odd angles from the accidental sunflowers that randomly appear from a seed dropped or buried by bird or squirrel. I watched as this little one diligently worked to to free a seed from flower and kernel from hull before she came to rest in the shade of the flower to enjoy her lunch.
