I know spring has sprung when the Sandhill Cranes fly into town. Every year there is a pair that nests in the marsh abutting my backyard who stroll around the yard, poking at the grass for something delicious to devour. I couldn’t resist taking this female’s photo from my dining room window as she was perfectly framed by my flowering crabapple tree in May, 2020.
