Description

To enhance the habitat for my feeder birds, I added a berry bush near the feeding stations a few years back. The birds have flocked to it! (pun intended). In addition to brown thrashers, I have seen and photographed orchard orioles and a prothonotary warbler. The hummers who feed from nectar nearby also seem to use the berry bush limbs for perching while they guard their feeders. I do not spray the bush, thus the bugs usually get the best of the leaves in the summer, but hopefully, those same bugs become bird snacks.
