A wren had made a nest in several of my bird houses. One day I saw this Carolina Chickadee removing twigs from this bird house. For several days I continued to watch it at work removing twigs. I thought it would eventually build it’s nest in the bird house. After a few days I noticed it trying to take out a long twig that was horizontal to the hole. The chickadee then just hung upside down and appeared exhausted or frustrated as the twig would not come out of the house. Never saw it again after that day.
