When an adult male Anna’s hummer visits the feeder, he constantly turns his head, alternating between feeding and looking around (for the dominant hummer whose territory he’s trespassing in). It’s hard to get a good photo with all that movement, and usually, as soon as I press the shutter, he turns his head out of the light, giving him a black gorget. This is the best photo I’ve ever gotten of a male Anna’s Hummingbird, and as much as I have tried, I can’t get another one!
