Capisic Pond in Portland, Maine is a catch-all for all sorts of migrant species. This Dickcissel was living with a group of House Sparrows. The group was flying from one thicket to another at eye level. The bright yellow color stood out in the browns of the thicket and the browns of the sparrows. They are indeed rare here in Maine in winter. I consider myself lucky to have seen it.
