Twenty years ago, my wife and I started a restoration project in our yard, which was completely invaded by buckthorn, canary grass, honeysuckle, and garlic mustard. Today, we have 0.4 acres of restored wetlands, prairies and woods by Ferry Creek, which is the home of many species of birds.
