This birds arrival last year along with several others from its family, I suspect, was a nice surprise. Never seen one before. They disappeared around August and this is the first time Ive seen one this year, just this male so far. Still a very infrequent vistor but hopefully comes more often with others.

Species: Black-headed Grosbeak
A Black-headed Grosbeak making its first appearance of the year in my yard.
We’ve had our first pair in a few years in our feeders just this week. We are in Ogden, Utah
We also had our first sighting ever in this area today (moved here in 2018). The full moon brought in Goldfinches and Black-headed grossbeaks!
