Is this a broad-winged hawk?
Might be a Red-shouldered. Here’s what I am seeing: light barring on the closed wing; projection of the tail beyond the wingtip is longer than in BWHA. (Both adults have red in the breast.) I’ve been seeing here in Central NJ juvies of both my breeding pairs lingering in Nov and Dec. Has anyone else answered?
