Description

Cedar Waxwings passing an insect/food back and forth, usually initiated by the male who joins the potential mate on a perch. If the female reciprocates in passing the food back to him, this is known as a “courtship dance”. You see motion in the feet because they approach each other with hopping movement, & sometimes bills will touch. So in addition to “courtship dance” it is also called “courtship hopping.”
