Description

Because I was seeing an unusual number of finches with eye disease as summer neared its end, I tried to lessen the possibility of spreading the infection. Along with continually cleaning and disinfecting my feeders and water dishes, I took down the port-type feeders that the finches seemed to use most, and put up a couple clinging-bird style feeders, because I seemed to feel that finches might not use that type as readily. So far, this appears to be the case. The Chickadees, Nuthatches and Titmice, and even some Woodpeckers have no problem using the clinging-bird feeders, in fact, it almost seems as though the Chickadees prefer them.
