Description

We have had a couple of weeks of unseasonably cold weather which has brought a lot of visitors to my feeders. I have had crows squabbling with Glaucous-winged Gulls over bread and hummingbirds making regular trips to the feeders. It has been so cold that I have to keep changing the food in the feeders because it has been freezing.
The Northern Shrike was a surprise, I have not seen one at this time of the year before and the Bushtits were just amusing to watch as they all tried to get on the suet at the same time. Those that couldn’t get on this block went over to another one at the opposite end of the balcony.

Cold Weather Brings Lots Of Visitors

Northern Shrike, first I have seen in winter around my feeders ever! Occasional visitor to my yard during the summer.
