Description

This magnificent Cooper’s Hawk was perched in our backyard Cottonwood tree for about 10 minutes. I was very careful not to disturb him from his resting perch while I took several photos from 25 feet away, hidden behind our Pinon trees.

Dale, thank you for catching my mistake! The black stripes in the tail confused me, but then once again I reviewed Merlin Bird ID photos and saw a Juvenile with the same stripes. Thanks for the compliment, I will post a few more pictures of this Red-tailed Hawk.
