Description

We have had both a juvenile and an adult Cooper’s Hawk visiting our yard frequently this winter and they are such amazing creatures. This one has some blood on his talons still. I love all our birds, including the abundant Rock Pigeons who come and gobble everything we put out on the deck at lightning speed. I will note that we had 32 Pigeons when I started counting, and now we only have four! I doubt the hawks ate all of them, but they certainly are keeping the local population in check.

Great photo and story, Paul. Cooper’s Hawks are certainly busy at our feeders this season.
