During our FeederWatch count period (3/15/16), we witnessed a Cooper’s Hawk predation of a Mourning Dove at our count site.. The hawk remained on the ground with the dove for about ten minutes, then flew with the dove up into a spruce tree in our yard.

I’ve never been able to catch one of my hawks when they’ve snatched one of my feeder birds. I’ll just see a pile of feathers on the ground.
