The bright side of this deep freeze is the variety and volume of birds that are we are seeing at our heated ( de-iced) water station. 11 Field Sparrows! 7 Northern Flickers! 6 Bluebirds! The most fun of all as been trying to verify that we do have three individual first year female Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers and tracking who willing shares and who is really the boss of the water! It’s not the Red Bellied Woodpecker! It’s not the Mockingbird! And certainly not the Eastern Bluebirds!
