This is the last photo taken of an Eastern Phoebe that has visited my feeders every day for the past two years. It has suddenly failed to show up again, and I fear that it may have had a tragic meeting with the Red-shouldered Hawk that is nesting in a nearby tree. For myself, I feel like I’ve lost a friend.
