This young Cooper’s hawk spent forty minutes perching around the feeders at the Croton Point Nature Center. This photo shows it right next to the feeders, intent on filling up. It was not successful this time. There was a pile of mourning dove feathers nearby from a previous day. We had a long discussion about whether it was a Coop’s or sharpie. One of our young birders also caught a photo and participated in the ID.
