It took six years but I finally got a visit from a Northern Flicker. I see them around my area from time to time but can never get very close, Maybe she will come around more often, I would love to get a shot of her, or any other, with wings spread open to show the beautiful golden feathers underneath.

Like you, I’ve never had one get close enough for a good shot…it’s been 8 years and counting for me. I’ll see them in the meadow, sometimes the yard, but never had one come to a feeder. I’m happy that you finally had success, and that it was just the first visit of many to your feeder.
