The only times I’ve photographed this sparrow was in the winter months of December, January, and February, so it was a surprise to see this one on April 17th this year.

Field Sparrow on a white millet feeder
I had a Field Sparrow who visited a few times in winter with the Chipping Sparrows.
But mine didn’t eat millet like the Chipping and Lincoln Sparrows, it ate cracked corn.
I never saw one come to a feeder before!
