Description

This was taken over the summer, I would like to get much better at identifying hawks. Can someone let me know what this one is? At the time I had a murder of six crows, she would dive bomb them, I’ve gotten very friendly with the crows, and at one point, I walked out to intervene, and she swooped over me. The power or of this bird was incredible seeing it close up and also very scary. Learned my lesson that day.

I took this photo over the summer in my Amhurst New York yard (Buffalo). Is this a Cooper’s hawk? I’d like to get better at identifying hawks. This one is a daily hunter of my crows.
