This young Cooper’s Hawk tried in vain to get at a songbird that took refuge in a brush pile. The hawk couldn’t find an large enough space to get inside. A mature Cooper’s Hawk might have given up quickly, but this youngster kept up his attempt for over 10 minutes before giving it up as futile.
