Most of our Feederwatch visitors went right to the feeders, but this juvenile Downy Woodpecker stopped on the deck railing as if he wasn’t sure what to do next. He looked around for a while and eventually flew to a nearby tree. Later we saw juveniles at the feeders, so he likely returned after a few pointers from his parents.
