Description

I’d been watching the Killdeer nest for weeks. I was concerned that the chicks may not hatch because the female was off the nest a lot! She nested at the edge of a busy gravel road and she ran off the nest everytime I car went by. I was relieved to see 3 chicks (out of 4) the day they hatched, June 30, 2013.
