Dec 6, 2022. First saw bird on ground by itself and thought snow bunting? Then why breeding colours in December? When it went to the finch feeder and then saw yellow head, determined a leucistic goldfinch. A bird tour operator advised he sees 3-4 in the Ottawa area a year. Bird stayed for one afternoon. Its white colour would make it stand out to predators.
