Description

I find it pretty rare to get the right angle of light to bring out the red throat of the male hummer, so I was very happy to get this photo. The hummingbirds are competing very actively for the feeders now, and this one, or one of his challengers, have taken to using one particular pine branch when “standing guard” near one of my feeders, so I am able to stake it out and capture photos fairly reliably.
