This male Ruby-throated Hummer has been working hard for days to dominate a nectar feeder. He stands guard on this pine branch most of the day so that he can keep an eye on the nearby feeder. I got lucky and snapped the photo the instant that he launched his attack on another hummingbird that was approaching “his” feeder.
