Photo shows a modification to a standard cage feeder that allows woodpeckers and purching birds to use the feeder more effectively. Cage feeder was reduced in length by one third. Pine log with horizontal perch were installed. Log was attached tot he base of the Cage feeder. Woodpeckers seem to enjoy the log perch. Modified feeder is used by a wide variety of birds.
