Had, two Blue jays, with what seemed a black crown, nape, and almost the whole head was dark, and even the crest.. For a while, they almost looked like a hybrid of Steller jays..
Unusual feathers & bills
If Blue jays are molting, it must be August.. Not going bald.. not yet!
He’s just molting. My feeder Blue Jays had bald heads in summer too.
