Myrtle Warbler’s

Myrtle Warblers, the Yellow-rumped warbler east of the Rockies, are not often seen at bird feeders. Although a widespread bird, I rarely see one except from above as they dart out of the tree tops to nab a gnat, or in the fall as they search under fallen leaves for bugs. A couple feet of snow was still on the ground until late in April, 2013 and not a bug in sight, so these tenacious little birds discovered the birds feeders. They came in droves and ate like a ranch hands.

I’ve seen my first at the feeders this morning here in MN.
