Hi Patricia, Northern Cardinals live year round across eastern and central US, as well as the south and into Mexico and Central America. These birds do not migrate, and typically stick to dense shrubby areas such as forest edges, overgrown fields, hedgerows, and backyards. You can learn more about this species here.
