Northern Flicker – intergrade; red malar, gray face, no red nape crescent of Red-shafted form but yellow underside of wings and tail of the Yellow-shafted form. Yellow edges of primary feathers visible in photo. Yellow wing and tail “linings” dramatic in flight.
