A young Canada Goose, perhaps a month old, arrived at the pond where it used to come with its parents and five other siblings to spend part of their days. This time, none of the others ever showed up. I assume the adult geese were forced to fly off and abandon the goslings, and this orphan was, perhaps, the only survivor.
