Description

I had a blast watching this hard working
Red-Headed Woodpecker excavating his
soon-to-be nest! It was comical seeing
him throw wood chips by the beak full
out of the entrance hole over the course
of a couple hours. At times it sounded like
a carpenter beating on the inside with a
heavy hammer. This was one of several captures
I got this morning and perhaps the one with
the most ‘character’ as he peaked out to see
if I was still nearby.
