Description

A Cooper’s hawk sat was preening and watching in the Douglas-fir at the edge of our yard on December 11. It did not attempt to catch one of the birds around the feeder. The following day our local red-tailed hawk perched in the same Douglas-fir. It often sits in that tree or on a power pole in the field behind our yard, but this is the first time I have had raptors within the count area during feederwatch.
