We finally figured out why our bird counts are lower than previous years. It appears we have a new resident on the property.

Species: Cooper's Hawk
We've noticed a marked decrease in bird counts and species this year over previous years. It appears that we have a young Cooper's Hawk who has taken residence on the property and is visiting our feeding stations once a day.
