Description

I watched this starling using his beak sideways to attempt to pick up seed….it is obviously a challenge for him to get enough food because the top and bottom of the beak are twisted over each other. What could cause this abnormality? What are his chances of finding enough food to survive?

Saw a similar starling in Seattle, Washington with long crossed bill. Bill was longer than usual, crossed, and white/clear at the tips. Seemed too long, like overgrown toenails.
