Description

While these two species are two of the most commonly encountered around our feeders, their conservation trajectories could not be more opposite. While the Cardinal has been spreading north and west across North America for decades, the Inca has disappeared from most suburban settings in the face of competition from the expanding populations of White-winged and Eurasian Collared-Doves. It is now only commonly found in forested acreage sites such as ours.
