Nice photo, Laura. I ought to be seeing my first Tree Swallow of the year any day now.

Laura Frazier says:

Thank you, Bob! I just saw them yesterday for the first time this year at the State Arboretum of Virginia (Blandy Farm), and today they were in my neighborhood about 20 miles Northeast of the Arboretum. It’s been so mild here this winter that all the birds and flowers think it’s Spring; however, we are supposed to get snow and winter temps this weekend and next week. The weather has been so crazy here!

After I saw your photo, I decided to carry my camera when I walked out to the road to get my mail (I live in a rural area), and wouldn’t you know it, there were four Tree Swallows sitting on the electrical wire next to my driveway! So I have to thank you again for alerting me to watch for them.

Laura Frazier says:

Yayyy! That’s awesome!
