Description

The squirrel saw the red-tailed hawk coming and ran up the baffle on the pole. The hawk grabbed the squirrel’s tail and pole together in its talons, but couldn’t pull the squirrel out. The hawk hung on for a minute or two, looking around as if wondering what to do next. It finally gave up, let go, and flew away, empty handed.
