Description

This pair of wood ducks are seen at the feeder on occasion (we have a creek nearby). The female came right up onto the tray! I had to take the photo through the window, so the quality is not the greatest – sorry.

Wow! We sometimes have a pair of Black-bellied Whistling ducks come and eat birdseed? How big are Wood Ducks? They look so tiny and cute!

Evelyn says:

They are not tiny. They are about the size of a mallard duck, and the female who was actually on the feeder tray looked huge compared to my normal finches. The male – on the ground – has beautiful markings.
