January 24th, fridgid temps in Richmond, VA. 16° in the am, I look out at my feeder with a seed cylinder containing fruit, seeds and mealworms and I see the most glorious orange and black bird! Balti is back- he came last year in Feb. I quickly made nectar, cleaned my feeder, scooped up some grape jelly and hosted his highness for the next 11 days!
