Participant Photo: Anna’s Hummingbird (Calypte anna)

This male Anna’s Hummingbird (Calypte anna) Is a happy addition to our birding life. Two Anna’s have claimed our year for the past five years and guard their territory well. Being on the west coast of Canada, we have milder winters and these Anna’s spend the winter with us too! It can be a challenge sometimes to keep the feeders unfrozen, but we are as dedicated to them as they are to us!
