This adult male and female Anna’s hummingbirds ‘face off’ as part of an ongoing battle over territory. They remained in a standoff for several minutes, with the male on the left moving slightly closer to the female. She stood her ground until both burst into motion, facing off again nearby. Finally, both burst into flight again and left the area.
