Participant Photo: Bald Northern Cardinal
Female Cardinal with no head feathers. Some posts suggested this is a normal molting pattern in summer months. Others suggested it could be mites. For the bird’s sake, I hope it’s not the latter!

It could be either, but don’t worry, it’s most likely just molting.
